Making thanks to teachers, (...) In this last week of Women's History month, I'd like to pay tribute to women teachers who inspired me to at least try to make "herstory" by following their admonition: "Those to whom much is given, much is expected." (Note: Herstory is a word coined by those who felt women were left out of "history.")

I attended elementary and high school with teaching orders of nuns. I think nuns get a bad rap when former students talk about their discipline efforts. Sometimes it was extreme, but I have positive memories and I'm grateful that they gave us tools for living, along with book-learning.
